Application of High-Voltage Amplifier in the Measurement of SPL Response to Driving Voltage of Flexible Electret Loudspeakers
The increasing development of human-computer interaction has led to a growing demand for the transmission of information through electronic products. Among the five human senses (namely, vision, hearing, taste, smell, and touch), machines are most proficient at providing visual and auditory experiences. As an important hardware for transmitting acoustic information, loudspeakers are crucial for creating immersive experiences in applications such as augmented reality and virtual reality. Flexible loudspeakers for distributed human-computer interaction can be integrated behind the scenes or casually hung on walls like posters, creating an immersive experience.
The ATA-7000 series high-voltage amplifiers from Antai Electronics are based on AB class amplification circuits, featuring low distortion and high stability. With a maximum bandwidth of up to 100 kHz and a maximum output voltage of up to 40 kVpp, they are widely used for testing and performance evaluation of various flexible and ferroelectric materials.
Experiment Name: Experimental Measurement of the SPL Response to Driving Voltage of Environmentally Friendly Flexible Electret Loudspeakers
Experiment Principle:As an electret and biodegradable polymer, PLA is an ideal choice for the main diaphragm of the loudspeaker due to its environmental friendliness and ability to store a large amount of static charge over the long term. After the PLA film is polarized using corona charging, the negative and positive charges on the two surfaces generate a high surface potential as an internal electric field. When combined with an external electric field from an AC driving voltage, the loudspeaker vibrates to produce sound. The vibration is controlled by the AC driving voltage. The surface potential is equivalent to the effect of a DC bias voltage, which can reduce the AC driving voltage or increase the SPL output at a given driving voltage.
Experiment Block Diagram:
Experiment Process:The driving signal for the loudspeaker is generated by a function generator and amplified by the ATA-7010 high-voltage amplifier. All sound pressure level data measurements are carried out using a multifunctional noise analyzer, with background noise of approximately 35 dB. The vibration displacement of the loudspeaker is measured by an LDV, with a range of 50 um, sensitivity of 25 um/V, and a high-pass filter at 30 Hz. Scanning electron microscope images are captured using a high-resolution field emission scanning electron microscope. The surface potential of the PLA electret film is measured using an electrostatic voltmeter. The Fourier-transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR) spectrum of the prepared PLA film is measured using an FTIR spectrometer. The Young’s modulus of the PLA film is measured using a tensile testing machine. The capacitance of the PLA film is measured using an LCR meter, and the resistance value of the carbon electrode is measured using a high-precision source meter.
