Application of power amplifier in study on microalgae microarray separated by electrophoresis
Name of Experiment: application of power amplifier in experimental study of microalgae separation chip in ship ballast water
Research Direction: microalgae separation chip
Experiment Contents: the separation system was used to carry out experiments on the movement of single microparticles in the separation chip, the separation of two different size microparticles, and the separation of microalgal cells and microparticles. Finally, the separation function of microalgal cells was verified.
Experiment Objective:the separation of microalgal cells and polystyrene particles of similar size can be achieved automatically and continuously with high efficiency.
Experiment Equipment: signal generator, ATA-4012 power amplifier, microscope, microfluidic injection pump, separation chip and computer.
Experiment Process:
1. Establishment of microalgae separation system
Firstly, the microfluidic injection pump sends the mixed solution and buffer of cells and particles into the separation chip at a certain flow rate, and then the signal generator and power amplifier transmit the electrical signal through the conductor to the separation chip. Finally, the particles and cells pass through the electrophoresis area, and the changes in the movement of the particles and cells will be presented on the computer through the microscope and CCD.

2.Preparation of salina cell sample and polystyrene microparticle sample solution

3. Analysis of amplitude and frequency parameters of AC voltage signal
When the voltage amplitude is 15V and the frequency is 1MHz, a large number of salina cells and particles appear to align and move away from the electrode, which is very obvious. Therefore, the AC voltage amplitude and frequency are suitable for the parameters of the separation experiment between salina and particles.

Experiment Result:
1.Different voltage amplitudes according to the movement of salina cells and polystyrene particles.
Movement of microparticles and salina under different voltages
2.The voltage amplitude of 18V is the best voltage for high efficiency separation of salina cells and microparticles. Through the above experiments, it is proved that the separation chip can realize the separation of microalgae cells in ship ballast water.
