Application of ATS-M1000C Broadband Mutual Inductor Drive Current Source in Frequency Response Testing of Optical Current Sensors
Optical Current Sensors are a novel current sensing technology developed based on military-grade gyroscope technology. They exhibit no magnetic hysteresis or magnetic saturation effects during use and can be directly employed for the detection and measurement of both direct current (DC) and alternating current (AC), making them the optimal choice for the future of the current testing industry.
Aigtek’s ATS-M1000C Series is a high-bandwidth drive current source specifically designed for current transformer testing. It employs a highly linear drive amplification circuit, ensuring minimal output signal distortion. It can be paired with mainstream signal generators to achieve a maximum current output of 40 Arms under high bandwidth conditions.
Experiment Name: Frequency Response Testing of Optical Current Sensors Based on the Faraday Magneto-Optic Effect
Experimental Block Diagram:

Experimental Procedure:
An excitation signal is generated by a signal generator and amplified by the ATS-M1020C current source. The amplified current is then fed into a copper tube to generate a magnetic field, which induces the Faraday effect in the optical current probe. Subsequently, the detector converts the signal into a voltage output, which is transmitted to an oscilloscope for data processing.
Application Areas: Power Systems, Communication Industry, Automation Control
Application Scenarios:
High-Frequency Transient Current Detection, Grid Monitoring, Circuit Fault Localization
