The Application of the ATA-7030 High-Voltage Amplifier in the Electromechanical Deformation of Flexible Actuator-Based Robotic Expressions
Experiment Name: The Application of the ATA-7030 High-Voltage Amplifier in the Electromechanical Deformation of Flexible Actuator-Based Robotic Expressions
Experiment Content:The core flexible component of the robotic expression system is composed of PVC gel electrostrictive flexible material and stainless steel mesh electrodes. Under the influence of an electric field, the gel undergoes viscoelastic deformation, causing it to fill the mesh pores of the electrodes, resulting in thickness-direction contraction and expansion. After the electric field is removed, the material returns to its original state. By controlling the ON-OFF state, the system can achieve contraction and expansion movements similar to biological muscles. Different types of deformation movements can be realized by adjusting the waveform and frequency of the electric field signal. This process requires a power amplifier to amplify the electrical signal by 10 to 100 times to drive the deformation of the flexible components, thereby enabling the robot to display various expressions.
Research Direction: Design of Flexible Devices Based on Smart Materials
Testing Equipment:ATA-7030 high-voltage amplifier, signal generator, laser displacement sensor, oscilloscope, etc.

Experimental Process:
A test platform for the robotic expression system was built based on the ATA-7030 high-voltage amplifier. The experimental equipment includes a signal generator, ATA-7030 high-voltage amplifier, laser displacement sensor, oscilloscope, etc. The signal generator sends electrical signals of various patterns and frequencies (-10V to 10V) to the ATA-7030 high-voltage amplifier. After amplification by a factor of about 50, the output voltage is around 500V, which drives the flexible components of the robot's modules to move, thereby enabling the robot to display different expressions.
Experimental Results:

The results indicate that the ATA-7030 power amplifier can stably amplify signals of different types and frequencies, thereby enabling different deformations of the flexible actuators and ultimately different expressions of the robot.
The results show that the flexible actuators have the same driving characteristics before and after modular packaging, with only a 10% reduction in displacement after packaging. Moreover, the output displacement of the actuators can closely follow the changes in the input voltage for different input signals. After 10,000 cycles of driving, the displacement loss of the flexible actuators is only about 5%, indicating good cyclic life. The results demonstrate that the ATA-7030 power amplifier can stably amplify input signals of different types and frequencies. It features fast response, high amplification factor, and low output error, meeting the signal processing requirements for non-standard customized input signals of flexible actuators. This enables different deformations of the flexible actuators and ultimately different expressions of the robot.
