The Application of the ATA-2021B High-Voltage Amplifier in Microfluidic Ultrasonic Cavitation Experiments
Experiment Name: The Application of the ATA-2021B High-Voltage Amplifier in Microfluidic Ultrasonic Cavitation Experiments
Experiment Content:The experiment utilizes ultrasonic transducers to drive the microfluidic substrate to generate vibrations in the frequency range of 100 kHz to 2 MHz. This process induces significant acoustic pressure changes within the microchannels. Simultaneously, high-speed microscopic imaging is employed to observe cavitation behavior inside the microfluidic channels.
Research Direction: Microfluidic Ultrasonic Cavitation
Testing Equipment:Signal generator, ATA-2021H high-voltage amplifier, ultrasonic transducer, high-speed camera, hydrophone, oscilloscope, etc.
Experimental Process:
Figure: Schematic Diagram of the Experimental Setup
PDMS microchannels are fabricated through soft lithography. The external voltage is amplified by the Aigtek power amplifiers ATA-1220D/ATA-2021H to drive the piezoelectric ultrasonic transducers, generating high-frequency mechanical vibrations that cause acoustic pressure changes inside the microchannels. During the ultrasonic loading process, high-speed microscopic imaging is used to observe cavitation phenomena within the microchannels.
Experimental Results:
Figure: Ultrasonic Cavitation Phenomena in Microchannels
The experiment found that cavitation did not occur in the frequency range above 200 kHz. Under the action of ultrasonic waves in the frequency range of 100 kHz to 160 kHz, cavitation phenomena were observed within the microchannels. These phenomena included wall-attached bubble oscillation instability, release of microbubbles, and cavitation nuclei transfer.
Power Amplifier Recommendation: ATA-2021B
